Identification Requirements

Each application must be supported by identification and proof of residential address documents for each named account holder. In some circumstances we may require additional documents to be provided. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning the suitability of your documentation or if you are unable to satisfy the requirements as we may be able to suggest a suitable alternative. Identification

For each person named on the account, please send us a certified copy of the relevant pages of one of the following: A valid full passport or a valid full driving licence* or a valid government issued national identity card incorporating photographic evidence of identity.

The pages must show:

*An International Driver's Licence / Permit is not acceptable.

We reserve the right to seek additional proof of identity and we will contact you further if this is required. If you wish to change the name on your account following your marriage please forward a certified copy of your identification document in your married name and a certified copy of your marriage certificate.

Proof of Residential Address

For each person named on the account, please send us an original of one of the following documents, which should not be more than 6 months old that shows your permanent residential address. We will return this document to you if you wish. If you are unable to provide an original document please provide a certified copy.

• Bank Credit Card or account statement (not AIB Jersey or AIB Isle of Man)
• Council rates / tax bill
• Utility bill for fixed services (gas, telephone, electricity, water)
• Bank mortgage statement
• Building society statement
• Income tax assessment

Mobile phone bills, non-bank cards such as store card bills, or satellite / cable TV bills or utility bills received electronically are not acceptable for verification of residential address. Please ensure the document details your name and full residential address. Documents addressed to a PO Box number or using a "care of" or accommodation address are not acceptable.

Verification of permanent residential address in countries where residential addresses are not used

If you are living in a country where residential addresses are not used, e.g. in some Middle Eastern countries, we will accept either:

a certified copy of your employment contract, or a letter from your employer, addressed to AIB Jersey & Isle of Man, confirming your employment and where you live.

In the case of a joint account for a married couple, if one spouse is not in employment and provided he / she has the same name as you and is living with you, it will be sufficient to provide confirmation from your employer of your employment and that you are both living at the address stated. We reserve the right to contact your employer for confirmation of the details given.

Certification of photocopied documents

To ensure that your photocopies are certified correctly, please use the Form of Certification which can be found on page 15 of the Application Form. Please make extra copies as required.

In any instance where the Form of Certification is not used the following must be stated on the photocopied document;

• I certify this to be a true copy of the original document
• Also in the case of an identity document the following must be stated. I certify the photograph is a true likeness of the individual requesting the certification
• Certifier's name printed legibly
• Certifier's business address and telephone number
• Certifier's signature and position
• Date of certification
• Office stamp if available

We reserve the right to contact the certifier in connection with the certification.

Acceptable certifiers are:

• a member of the judiciary, a senior civil servant, or a serving police or customs officer;
• an officer of an embassy, consulate or high commission of the country of issue of documentary evidence of identity;
• a lawyer or notary public who is a member of a recognised professional body;
• an actuary who is a member of a recognised professional body;
• an accountant who is a member of a recognised professional body;
• a tax advisor who is a member of a recognised professional body;
• a company secretary who is a member of a recognised professional body; or
• a director, company secretary or manager of a regulated financial services business operating in a well regulated jurisdiction or of a branch or subsidiary of a group headquartered in a well regulated jurisdiction which applies group standards to branches and subsidiaries worldwide, and tests the application of and compliance with such standards. State Jurisdiction of Operation or Group Headquarters.

Account holders or members of the account holders family are not acceptable certifiers.

Translation

Foreign documents must be translated into English by a suitably qualified translator or translation service who must certify that the translation is an accurate and complete translation of the original document. The credentials and contact details of the translator / translation service must be provided.
