Fraud Protection

Fraud Protection

AIB Jersey & Isle of Man utilises the most up-to-date technologies and processes to ensure that our banking services and communications with you are secure. However, you should also take certain measures to protect yourself against fraud so as not to expose yourself to unnecessary risks with your personal details, account details, passwords and debit cards.

  • Change your passwords and pass codes regularly. Be sure to choose passwords that are not easy to guess. Ideally they should be at least 8 characters long with a mix of upper and lower case alphabetic and numeric characters
  • Do not divulge your passwords, passcodes or PINs to anyone and do not write them down in an easily identifiable place or in a way in which they would be recognised easily by others
  • If you notice suspicious activity on your account please contact us immediately
  • Install anti-spyware, anti-virus and other internet security software on your PC, use it regularly and keep it updated
  • Be wary of emails you receive from people you don't know. Don't open any attachments or click on any links that an unknown email may contain. If in doubt delete the email without opening it
  • When receiving unexpected telephone calls, be cautious if you are asked for personal information. If they have called you they should know who you are
  • Always take a moment to thoroughly check your bank statements
  • Destroy unwanted financial and personal papers securely
  • Keep your plastic cards and chequebooks in separate, secure locations

If your personal details change please update the Bank.
